Right in the centre of Kurri Kurri, town of murals, Col Brown Rotary Park has plenty of street parking and even a bus stop making it great for public and community events like markets and entertainment.
The rotunda has power available making pa and sounds systems a viable options. The historical aspect of the park and its tribute to fallen soldiers make it a special place of respect.
Col Brown Rotary Park is the location of Kurri Kurri’s much loved ‘Nostalgia Fest’.

Nestled between several large wine estates and a short walk down the drive and across the road from Pokolbin Hall, Pokolbin Park is a stunning, well maintained, but little known gem off MacDonald’s Road.
Surrounded by native trees and shrubs, Pokolbin Park has several sitting areas and whimsical garden nooks flanked with lomandras and costal rosemary, enjoy a perfect photo opportunity, catchup with friends, or curl up with a good book and a thermos of coffee.
Whether you’d like to host a birthday party fit for a princess, and elopement or something more structured with coffee vans and vendors, there’s plenty of potential at Pokolbin Park.
Views, accessibility and flexibility for some amazing DIY options make Pokolbin Community Hall an absolute favourite with locals and visitors who appreciate the beauty of the Hunter Vineyards.
Set among the Peppertrees with views over the Brokenback ranges, Pokolbin Halls features beautiful wide verandahs, traditional style hip roof and polished timber floors throughout. The double hung windows and four sets of french doors add to its classic character and encourage a great flow from the lawn through to the indoor function space.
With an indoor capacity for 200 people cocktail style or 120 seated, there’s room for everyone at Pokolbin Hall. Community groups will also love it’s generous open floorspace for groups like yoga, pilates and dance.
Pokolbin Hall plays host to many weddings, AGMs, playgroups, Christmas parties and has held fetes, art shows, balls, galas, and formals.
The large commercial style kitchen, rear entrance and loading dock parking make catering for your event a simple process. Coffee carts, food trucks and stalls can also be setup on the generous lawns with prior arrangement. The front lawn slopes away from the hall and should be taken into account when planning setup for larger events.
Poppethead Park is a fantastic location to hold special events like market days and festivals thanks to its spacious 31 acres and wildlife filled dam. There’s good access for food trucks or vehicles with trailers, with power also available.
Just five kilometres south of Cessnock’s main township, it’s a very handy regional park.
The park is steeped in local history with the dam close by being a remnant of the local mining history which has been transformed into a home for a variety of wildlife. Watch the peaceful black swans, native wood ducks and red bills while you picnic, or learn more about the ‘Poppethead’ of the Aberdare Central Colliery at Kitchener, now onsite at Poppethead Park.
